Over the years this art manifestation for professional artists, held on Sundays, has grown into an art market with immense popularity in and outside the Netherlands.

For the city of Amsterdam, and especially for the neighbourhood of the Rembrandtplein, the art market has become a crowd magnet with an approximate number of interested visitors of about 350.000 per year.

An average of 25 visual artists are presenting their work every Sunday. The open contact between artists and visitors often leads to inspiring moments. Laughter and other emotions, admiration and the odd "I could do that too" are some of the direct reactions, which also form the necessary life force for the participants.
